In-play (live) betting

In-play betting is placing wagers on a sporting event after it has started, with continuously updating odds.

In depth

In-play (or live) betting requires low-latency feed ingestion, sub-second odds re-pricing, bet-placement latency budgets and dynamic market suspension. It's the highest-margin, most-technical part of sportsbook engineering.
