The brief
Acquire.bet is a prediction-market and real-money wagering platform built for compliance from day one. The founders had a clear thesis on the prediction-market opportunity but needed a partner who could handle the harder parts — wallet, risk, payouts and the regulatory surface — without compromise.
Architecture & engineering choices
Built on Next.js + Node + PostgreSQL with Stripe and a specialist KYC partner. The wallet is double-entry ledgered: every deposit, hold, win and withdrawal is an immutable journal entry. The risk engine evaluates per-event limits, per-user limits and aggregate exposure in real time; a request that exceeds any of them is rejected at the API layer, not patched in the UI.
