How we
delivered.
Brief, architecture decisions, what shipped and where it stands now — in our own words.
The brief
GetCashback is a multi-merchant cashback and rewards platform. The brief was to deliver the consumer surface (browser extension + mobile app + web), the merchant integration layer (affiliate networks + direct APIs), and an AI personalisation engine that ranks offers based on each user's actual spend behaviour.
Architecture & engineering choices
Browser extension + React Native mobile + Next.js web on the consumer side; Node + Postgres + Stripe on the backend. The affiliate integration layer abstracts a dozen networks behind a single offer model — we treat the consumer like they're shopping at GetCashback, not at twelve different reward programs stitched together.
The AI ranker is a lightweight personalisation model that re-orders the offer list per session based on the user's spend categories and recency. It's not magic — it's careful product engineering with a tight feedback loop.
